What our clients say…

"I just wanted to say thank you to all who work at Clifton Homecare. Your support and care for Mum over the last 12 months has been amazing. She has always been treated with the upmost dignity, care and respect with so many staff going above and beyond. Also for your support for me - you were always there at the other end of the phone, whatever the issue and this made such a difference for me to be able to continue to keep Mum at home, which was all she ever wanted."
I couldn’t have asked for more and will always be grateful. I know Mum only ever wanted to stay at home. -
"The pandemic has been a hugely challenging time for everyone, in particular elderly people such as Mum who depend heavily on their care workers to support their day to day lives. Mindful that Clifton Homecare were still integrating ARC clients when the pandemic struck in earnest, it is a real credit to your business that you have continued to provide support every single day without fail, and the carers continued their work, with a smile, embedding all the extra Covid requirements. For Mum, hospitalised for 2 months during the pandemic after a fall, Clifton Homecare continued to take a proactive interest in her welfare and then helped set up a new care plan appropriate to her needs, always available for guidance and advice during this difficult time for the client. Both the client and close family have appreciated the consistent and reliable service provided by Clifton Homecare, the good communication, and Clifton’s ability to continue to make changes to the care plan as needed. Thanks to all the carers, office staff and management. We would like to thank all the staff, and it is difficult to single out one person. For the day-to-day help provided to Mum we don’t know all the carers but would like to mention Lorraine, Susan and Lauren for their different and special skills."

"Last year our mother was rushed to hospital seriously ill - none of the family were allowed in the ambulance. It was touch and go but mum pulled through, four weeks later our mother was transferred to Clifton Hospital for rehab! On the day mum was due for discharge she tested positive for Covid, it was several weeks before mum returned home in a terrible state; dehydrated, constipated, moisture lesions and confused, never having spent more than a day away from her family. We would not consider residential care as it meant that we may never have been able to see her again due to serious Covid restrictions. Mum came home once support from Home Care Staff was put in place and remains home still. You are all truly wonderful, each day you come into our home and support mum, the standard of care she receives is outstanding, if we did not have your involvement, we would simply struggle. We all look forward to seeing you each day, and we hope that you all enjoy coming to mum. Due to Covid restrictions mum has had no visits from her family in Ireland, close friends and people from the church, therefore we value the interaction the carers have with mum, and it’s a change from her family! I hope that you realise that we are grateful. We cannot thank the team at Clifton Care enough. The challenge of providing care through the ongoing pandemic and caring and keeping all safe including your own families has been tough to say the least. Thank you."

"Over the past few weeks, I have been chatting with many different people especially friends and friends of friends about dementia and how the contented dementia trust and the SPECAL way have helped us as a family cope with mums dementia and it got me thinking about how Clifton Homecare carers have helped us. Mum was a wife, mum of three children, primary school teacher and a big supporter to her husband in the role of vicar’s wife so most of her life she cared for people and made decisions. Now with the rapid onset of dementia the tables have turned and others are having to care for her and make decisions on her behalf which is sometimes very hard to cope with. Over the time we, as a family, have been receiving outstanding care from CHC there have been some moments that stand out amongst the rest: Jenna for making mum realise it was ok to let others help her with personal care and trying to decipher the spoon banging tune. Carla for always making her laugh, especially the day mum told her she looked like a chimney sweep because of her hair style! Jackie for going along with mum’s idea that they were friends because they were the same size. Lauren for singing hymns with her and also unblocking the toilet, which I am sure was not really in her job description. Keira for being patient and encouraging mum to colour in the colouring book of psalms showing great respect for her faith. The look of excitement on Abbey’s face the last time I saw her with mum as she had just been on Caroline’s contended dementia presentation and I realised that it really does work. There are many more little but special things that happen on a daily basis which I don’t get to see but *** tells me about. He was so grateful to Jenna, Carla and Jackie for their reassuring visits when mum was in hospital and was feeling lonely. Alysson and Abbey in the office do an amazing job, i love chatting with them and the way they make me feel anything is possible. If they ring me with a problem, they usually have a solution up their sleeve or give me the encouragement to find one. Margaret and Caroline I don’t know how I would have coped without you in the very dark days after *** died, your support was very precious. ***, *** and myself will be eternally grateful for your love and compassion. You have made us feel part of an extended loving, caring family. The pandemic has been a very difficult time for so many people and the pressure it has put on people like you, who are such a crucial part of the care system, must have been almost unbearable at times but please keep on going you are all doing an amazing job and are irreplaceable."

"The regular team looking after my dad are just so very good. They all have an amazing amount of patience and are so caring. It gives both me and my brother peace of mind, as we both live quite far away, that the team in place are there to support both my Dad and my Mum on a day-to-day basis. I have only met a few of the carers and know there are more people involved that I haven’t actually met yet who provide support to them, other than the few I am going to mention, but a special shout out please to Harprit, Craig and Big Mike who give my dad confidence to keep on, keeping on. Thank you."
